An Entrepreneur Saw a Better Way.
Before founding SkyBlue, Stephen LaCroix owned and operated a Southern California advertising publication serving local businesses. Insurance agencies were among the businesses that regularly advertised in the publication, giving Stephen an early look at an industry he had never worked in himself.
The more he learned about insurance—and the more he reflected on his own experiences buying insurance through local agencies—the more convinced he became that there was an opportunity to do things differently. So he went back to school, earned his insurance license and, in February 2005, opened SkyBlue Insurance Agency in Long Beach, California.
There was no large staff or national operation.
Just one desk, one telephone and one new insurance agent determined to build something better.

From those humble beginnings in 2005, SkyBlue has grown consistently, year after year, and is now licensed and operating in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
